My Review (I am not a reviewer - Its just one personal view)
This is a scanner which finds known Trojans and can remove them. It has extras for purchasers such as an on-line checker etc. but I already have other software that does this, so I really can't say much about this. It is difficult to say if this is effective, not knowing if I have something it missed. However, I am fairly sure I have no modem traffic that at least one of my programs wouldn't log, and since I first used this program (over a year) I have had no data going astray, knowingly, nor suspiciously. Prior to using this program, I had 169 suspect programs or components, which it found, and I got it to clear. However, one of them was Web3000, which it detects but couldn't clear (at that time). There are manual clearing methods. The main problem is that Web3000 often comes as an infected WSock32.dll which is a system file, usually working, and so system file protection won't allow its files to be repaired, replaced, nor deleted. Apparently it has removed 6 further baddies. Not any of them suspected, so possibly something is in here waiting to pounce... BOO ! Incidently.. 2 of them come during the Windows XP Upgrade, which works fine without them! But since you have to connect to the web before your security is re-installed, I can't but imagine where they came from! I always scan after every install and before a backup. I always do a scan if anything strange happens while I'm on-line. |
