My Review (I am not a reviewer - Its just one personal view)

This appears to be faultless software. It gathers its data in the background, does not noticeably alter the speed of any PC programs in use, and can reset your machine to how it was at various snapshot times in the past. The snapshots are at various intervals from ten minutes ago (usually) to a couple of days ago. These normally include all boots and shutdowns. I have used it on about half a dozen occasions, always successfully. This software comes bundled with Norton Systemworks 2002, and I advise that you seriously consider this package. It is very good value. The only consideration of note, is that each hard drive will lose about 10% capacity, which becomes 'hidden' and the 'private' property of GoBack

It is very easy to use, and needs very little instruction, and no revision. On one occasion the power here cut several times over a few minutes and the PC was reset before it had loaded, at least four times, and it lost all its marbles! I had to use the start up floppy disc, but when I eventually got windows running in (minimum) VGA mode, I clicked Go Back and it offered a time prior to the power failure, which it re-instated, and despite losing some emails, and a few other bits, it came back up in 1280x1024, desktop and everything else perfect, just as though nothing had happened.

I had taken to a specific routine whenever I installed software:

1. Make sure you have a recent full backup (just in case!)
2. Reboot
3. Run fileWATCH and close
4. Install Software
5. Run fileWATCH again
6. Run AdAware scan (for trojans etc.) If clean skip to 10
7. Run fileWATCH again and save all three database files to a CD-R
8. Test program to see if it runs without the Trojans
9. If not, use GoBack to reset to state 2
10. Do a fileWatch compare to see what went on, and what changed. (This is pure education!)

Go Back 3 prevents Norton Ghost from working on a partitioned drive. So you need to uninstall it prior to making a restore set. The built in recovery of Windows XP does tend to make it redundant. I have never yet needed it with XP, and personally there is no choice. Ghost is not optional for me, it has priority.
