My Review (I am not a reviewer - Its just one personal view)

This is the program to use for the IRC chat Network, which is massive. I have no idea how many chat rooms are on this system, you can set one up at any time, just to chat to a mate, or to send each other files. There are game files, just buckets of stuff on IRC, and hundreds of servers, portals to the network.

mIRC is the software to use, it is highly programmable, but comes set up for virtually immediate use. It can be set to scan for a free server, mine is set for Random European Dalnet so it has plenty to choose from. You can view a dynamic list of open rooms, but I normally go to a SIG channel whose name is never listed, so I know there are some, if not many, hidden meetings here. A place for company conferencing maybe.

This is a case where the software and system are intertwined, and the end result is a total. The program costs peanuts for lifetime upgrades, and the chat system is free. I would imagine that fixed rooms, both public and private are charged for, but the ad hoc ones that you could assign a strange name to, and open at a fixed time are definitely free.
