My Review (I am not a reviewer - Its just one personal view)
This records CDR and CDRW and works on Windows XP, which needs updates of the other two competitor software titles that I had used prior to my XP upgrade; Neither of which upgrade, both requiring purchase of new versions. Well, neither of the old titles would be much missed, and this Software is quite a bit more 'solid feeling'. However, it has a major problem, in that it doesn't warn correctly of an over-full data load, and it records right up to the point it crashes and locks the PC. So keep below 630M or 680M on an 80 minute disc. But other than this 'feature'. This software seems OK. The Insert printing software is not sufficiently flexible, and I wasted too much time trying to position the print to match my blanks, which either can't be done ! or the help file doesn't care to tell you how ? It seems to me that the market is still waiting for a definitive recorder application. This might be the best of a bad bunch, and the feel of these indicates to me, they are copy catting, rather than doing the job. If someone wrote some serious original software that did the minimum, but did it well, and without crunching they would have my custom, and I'm sure they could clean up. In the meantime, I will stick with Nero, I know how to make it work! |
