My Review (I am not a reviewer - Its just one personal view)
This is a just an impression, and should not stop you from trying this software. This software caused my machine to crash and lock up in a frequent but random manner. The publishers responded very very quickly to my help request, within minutes, and suggested that I tried closing down software until it ran. I was unable to find any other item of software causing all the conflicts, but removing 'ActivIcons' produced a noticeable crash reduction. I had similar problems with Hotdog Pro. When I upgraded to Windows XP and replaced my ATI All in Wonder graphics driver, most of the problems disappeared and the rest only happen after watching TV or a DVD, so I think ATI is my problem. A system reboot before every load allowed some work to be done, so anything I say is based on a short, tortuous try-out. The software is very easy to use, the documentation/help is very good, and the tutorials only fail when they call for files that are not available in the trial software. The tutorials don't actually accompany the trial, and are on the site presumably intended for the full version. The trial version is 1.00 and fairly old. I asked them if, having bought the full current version and found it to be a problem, I could get a refund. However, they did not give me an answer, so I have moved on. It could be the best visual editor at it's level but I don't need the hassles. Having tried various editors, I have settled on Pagewiz's bigger brother Hotdog Pro, which is not visual, but as easy. |
